Sofia Vergara has revealed she is planning to use a surrogate to start a family with her fiancé Nick Loeb.
The 40-year-old actress told the May issue US Cosmopolitan magazine that she has already had her eggs frozen in preparation for the surrogacy.
Sofia said she never thought she would have to turn to surrogacy, but was left with no choice after her cancer treatment in 2000.
“I already have a kid, so I never thought I would need to do that,” she told the publication. “But I will have to use a surrogate, because I had thyroid cancer and lots of radiation.”
Earlier this year, Sofia was forced to deny rumours she and Nick were already expecting a baby via a surrogate.
She confirmed they plan to have a baby one day, but would like to wait a while.
“I don’t want to wait forever, but not yet, because I’m working like an animal,” she said.
Sofia has a 20-year-old son from a previous relationship.
