According to an Instagram account under the name of Elizabeth Jagger, one of the Rolling Stones rocker’s previous children, Sir Mick Jagger, has chosen a rather dramatic name for his latest addition, who was born on December 8.
The caption read: “My beautiful baby brother Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger.”
Although it is not verified, Lizzy’s Instagram account is followed by more than 50,000 people.
It is believed Sir Mick chose the name for sentimental reasons.
Though widely referred to as ‘Joe,’ Basil was the name of Sir Mick’s late father who passed away in 2006.
As for the rest of the new tot’s name – Deveraux stems from the French word for ‘riverbank,’ while Octavian means ‘born eighth’ in Latin.
Sir Mick became a father again at the age of 73 with his partner Melanie Hamrick, 29, making her 44 years his junior.
Baby Deveraux is Melanie’s first child.
According to The Mirror, Sir Mick flew some 3,500 miles from London to New York to be by the side of his ballerina girlfriend as she gave birth to baby Deveraux.
He told friends: “I need to be there for her.”
A source added: “He made sure he was there. He wouldn’t have missed it for the world.”
On December 8, [Mick’s publicist confirmed the joyous news](http://www.vanityfair.com/style/2016/12/mick-jagger-son-birth-melanie-hamrick-2016 |target=”_blank”|rel=”nofollow” ) by speaking with Vanity Fair. He said, “Melanie Hamrick and Mick Jagger’s son was born today in New York and they are both delighted.”
“Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well.”
Including Lizzy and little Deveraux, Sir Mick, who is also a great-grandfather, has six other children from previous relationships.
Their ages range from 17 to 46.
We have no doubt the Jagger household will be full this Christmas!
