Straight from the source, Shia LaBeouf himself has confirmed that he did get hitched to his lady love Mia Goth in Vegas recently.
The actor made the confession during an interview on Ellen.
Ellen DegGeneres made the bold move of congratulating the star on his recent nuptials following a video of the event that appeared online.
There had been speculation that the affair could have just been a performance art piece in a similar vein to stunts Shia has pulled off before.
“The plan was for it to be a private deal, but… part of the package, the King Tut package, you get a live stream for free — part of the deal,” Shia told Ellen.
He continued: “And I said, ‘You know, we don’t really need that as a matter of fact. We’ll just take our private tape.’
“We got our Moms there and they said, ‘No problem.’
“We get back home and it’s like, woah, hey listen, something changed!”
“I call them up and they said somebody pressed the wrong button that sends the video to TMZ,” he continues.
“I said, I understood. I checked with my girl and she said, ‘Hey, what are you gonna do,’ and you know, it’s love.
“We’re proud of it. It was love.”
Despite Shia’s admission of events, Clark County Nevada denied a married certificate had been signed, instead calling the event a “commitment ceremony”.
Meanwhile the 30-year-old actor had a bizarre reaction to the lights going on while he was on The Late Show with James Corden.
He’d been chatting with the host about his wedding and their mutual affection for one another when the lights in the studio failed.
The band started playing spooky music and Shia said everyone had to hold hands to to get the energy back up. It was clear the actor thought this was a total setup.
“Is this real?” he asked. “I thought you were just f—ing with me!”
“It’s actually genuinely happening,” James replied. “There’s been a lighting crash apparently.”
The audience let out a huge cheer when the lights came back on.
