Ben shared a stunning black-and-white photo of his mum on his Facebook page, with it he wrote: “My mom Anne. She was an extraordinary person.”
The Zoolander star added: “Miss her.”
The simple tribute was a moving reminder of the way Anne Meara lived her life, with masses of talent and a lot of love, but without much fuss.
The 49-year-old earlier took to twitter to thank fans for their support, “thank you so much for all the kind words about Anne. All of us in our family feel so lucky to have had her in our lives,” he shared.
Anne’s passing was announced via a family statement over the weekend, “Anne’s memory lives on in the hearts of daughter Amy, son Ben, her grandchildren, her extended family and friends, and the millions she entertained as an actress, writer and comedienne,” it read.
The statement continued: “She is survived by her husband and partner in life Jerry Stiller, the two were married for 61 years and worked together almost as long.”
Anne’s career spanned six decades with numerous Emmy nominations and a Writers Guild Award, her greatest role though was mother to Ben and Amy Stiller, Grandmother of six and wife of 65-years to the love of her life, Jerry Stiller.
Sending lots of love to the Stillers at this tough time.
