Nine has announced it’s working on a TV miniseries about late cricket legend Shane Warne but it already has fans in a spin!
While Shane’s former fiancee Liz Hurley, 56, didn’t attend the sports star’s memorial, sources say the British model will be front and centre in the television drama, which could be an issue for his ex-wife Simone Callahan.
“This could prove to be very stressful for Simone,” a source tells Woman’s Day of the 52-year-old.
“But Liz’s role in Warnie’s private life has to feature heavily as it delivered so many tabloid headlines worldwide.
“The bottom line is you cannot do a Warnie TV miniseries without featuring his highly public romance with the glamorous UK star.”
Of course, there’s also plenty of chatter over who will play Shane himself in the biopic, which is set for release next year.
Television insiders have touted Eddie Perfect, 44, who played the lovable Aussie larrikin in Shane Warne: The Musical, as a strong contender, as well as The Castle star Stephen Curry, 45, or his brother, fellow actor Bernard, 48.

Shane and Liz first met at the races in July 2010, and when pictures surfaced of them kissing in London, their love became official to the world.
Their relationship moved quickly, and they eventually got engaged during a trip to Sri Lanka in 2011.
Unfortunately the pair broke up two years later in 2013 but their separation caused no animosity.
In an interview with The Mirror, the cricket legend revealed his years with Liz “were the happiest of (his) life,” and they simply “fizzled out.”
He was previously married to Simone from 1992 until 2005, when the pair decided to split after more than 10 years of marriage and three kids together.
Though there were rumours of a reignited romance in 2010, the couple never got back together but worked hard at co-parenting their children.
Simone accompanied their two daughters, Brooke and Summer, and only son Jackson to Shane’s state memorial service in March 2022.
