They were one of the most intriguing couples in their time, and since Shane Warne and Elizabeth Hurley ended their engagement in 2013, neither has settled down or found The One.
But now, it appears the pair could be looking to give their love a second chance after flirtatiously commenting on each other’s social media pages!
While it’s no secret that Shane, 51, has been lusting after the ageless Liz, 55, for years since their break-up – liking just about every photo of the British star in a skimpy bikini on Instagram – eyebrows were raised when Liz seemed to respond to his cheeky hints.
“I recognise those railings,” she commented along with a series of kiss emojis on a photo of Shane presumably standing outside his Melbourne home.
This certainly isn’t the first time Liz has reached out to Shane either, with the Bedazzled actress constantly posting love heart emojis on pictures of Shane.
The affectionate comments come after Shane opened up last year over the sudden end of their engagement, and admitted to still being “quite sad” over the split.
“I was more in love with her than I’d ever realised I could be,” he said.
In 2018, Shane also brought up his love for Liz in his autobiography No Spin.
In an excerpt from the book – which was seen as a non-intentional dig to ex-wife Simone Callahan, who he was attempting to make amends with when he met Liz in 2010 – Shane recalled his time with Liz as the “happiest years” of his life, and relived the moment he proposed after just two years of dating.
“Completely on impulse in the middle of a dance, I grabbed Elizabeth, dropped to one knee and said, ‘I’m not sure about you, but I’ve never got along with any woman as well as I get along with you. I’m madly in love with you. Our kids get along great. How would you like to spend the rest of your life with me?'” Shane wrote.
Shane said there was “no single, clear reason” why the pair split, but admits he often ponders why it came to an end.
“The more you’re apart, the more you ask questions. I got jumpy about the time Elizabeth still spent with Hugh Grant… He is her best friend but they saw each other more when I wasn’t around so, well, you know.”
Despite his insecurities, Shane admits he still pines for the life he had with her.
“We still love each other in many ways – I still care for her deeply,” he has said.
“I think we were good for each other and I know that I miss the love we had.”
While Liz still publicly supports Shane with the various endeavours he plugs on social media, she’s also still very much involved in his children’s pursuits.
After Shane’s eldest son Jackson, 21, appeared on Seven’s SAS Australia, the budding model said he “still kept in touch” with both Liz and her son Damien.
“Whether it’d be commenting on Instagram or messaging or congratulating, they’re super supportive,” he said last year.
The support is evident, with Liz commenting “I love you” on one of Jackson’s photos before SAS premiered. Damien, 18, echoed her sentiments, with a series of love-heart emojis.
The same goes for Shane and Damian, with the sporting legend liking nearly every post on the young model’s page.
