After rumours of their romance surfaced last year, Real Housewives of Melbourne star Lydia Schiavello and the Aussie cricket legend insisted they were just friends.
A new teaser for the reality show airing Sunday shows Schiavello, who is married to architect Andrew Norbury, address the alleged romantic relationship again.
The episode was filmed after the socialite returned to Australia from a trip to London, where she attended an event as an ambassador for the now defunct Shane Warne foundation.
A spokesman for the producers of The Real Housewives of Melbourne confirmed that the show’s third series will focus on the rumoured romantic liaison between the two.
Fellow Housewife Janet Roach says that in this season (which premiered on Sunday night on Foxtel’s Arena), Schiavello is confronted by one of the co-stars at a party who allegedly caught the pair in a compromising position.
“One of the girls knows more than they let on, they are basically there,” Roach said.
A source close to the show said: “The story starts to build.”
“It doesn’t all come out until about episode nine or 10.”
It’s not the first time the spin bowler has been linked to one of the women of the show.
Roach claimed that he once sent her a late-night booty call text.
When recently promoting the show, Schiavello again denied the tryst and said: “It did hurt that they said it, and that they said it on camera. Janet is the one who got the booty call, I haven’t.”
Warne is currently still in the African jungle, escaping all the media attention surrounding the fling.
