Shane Warne has been cleared by police over claims he assaulted a woman at Loulou’s nightclub in London’s swanky Mayfair on Saturday night.
Valerie Fox spoke out about the apparent incident on Twitter, alleging the Australian cricketer attacked her.
Describing the dad-of-three as a “vile creature” the model the uploaded photos of her apparent injuries, which she claimed were a result of an argument.
“Proud of yourself? Hitting a woman? Vile creature,” she captioned a photo of her bruised eye.
Valerie told her followers, “Absolutely traumatised by tonight’s events, being a victim of assault is horrible and I thank the @metpoliceuk for their help & support.”
She followed up the post with another photo of her report card, penning, “And no, I’m not lying. Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you can hit women and get away with it.”
Shane was interviewed by British police in Mayfair and says he’s been cleared of any wrong-doing.
At the time, a police officer confirmed that a man matching Shane’s description was being “interviewed under caution in connection with the incident.”
“He was not arrested,” the spokesman said. “Inquiries continue. The matter is not closed for now.”
On Monday, the 48-year-old released a statement vehemently denying the claims and assuring the public the police had his full co-operation.
“I was shocked to read the media stories circulating earlier today concerning a false allegation of assault,” the statement began.
“I have fully co-operated with the police, have assisted officers with their enquiries and they have now had the opportunity of seeing CCTV and speaking to witnesses.”
“As I strongly anticipated, I am now able to confirm that the Police have informed me that I have been cleared of the allegation and that no further action will be taken.”
Before concluding, “This is now the end of the matter.”
