Shane Warne has hit back at Project host Waleed Aly after he put heat on Shane’s charity, The Shane Warne Foundation.
In an interview on Thursday night between the host and the freshly-evicted I’m A Celebrity contestant Warne, Aly appeared to cast doubt on the cricketers defence of the charity after allegations it only donated 16 cents of every dollar raised.
Aly brought attention to the audit taking place on the charity, firing Warne with: “You and Fev (Brendan Fevola) were going to donate money to the charity. There’s been the audit. It wraps up next week. You are about to land back in Australia and land in the middle of that issue. What are you doing about that the moment you get back home?”
Warne hit back with: “You’re doubting me, mate?”
“None of us have ever taken one cent and it’s disappointing that people want to come after some good people that have raised a lot of money and made a serious difference to seriously ill and underprivileged children.”
He continued: “You can all go and get stuffed if you want to have a go at us for it but we are very very proud of what we have been able to achieve.”
“I am not sure the independent auditors will get stuffed but I’m sure we will see what they ultimately say,” Aly quickly jumped in.
Warne later shared this tweet, calling Aly a ‘dick’.
