It’s a boy for Shakira! The Colombian-born singer has welcomed her second child with her famous footballer partner Gerard Pique, in Spain.
She announced his arrival on her website naming him Sasha Piqué Mebarak.
“The name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means ‘defender of mankind’ and ‘warrior,'” she said.
Shakira, who announced she was pregnant back in August, her her little one on Friday night via C-section at hospital Quirón-Teknon de Barcelona.
The 37-year-old went into labour on Wednesday, with her partner Gerard reportedly reserving an entire floor of the Hospital to ensure privacy for the pop star and allow family to wait in adjoining rooms.
Shakira is already mum to two-year-old son Milan and has expressed plans to expand her family further.
“I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard,” she told Latina magazine. “My own fútbol team.”
