Scarlett Johansson’s movies have earned a total of $4.4 billion in the US alone, making her the highest-grossing actress of all time.
The figure comes from the site [Box Office Mojo], which has been tracking Hollywood films’ profits and puts the star ahead of Robert De Niro and Matt Damon.
Find out what makes ScarJo the top-grossing female star in the clip below. Post continues.
According to the site, Scarlett’s film The Avengers was the fifth highest-grossing film of all time, raking in $835.5 million.
Despite her films’ earnings, the mum-of-one is still only 10th on the list overall in comparison to her male acting peers. Meanwhile, the next female on the list is Cameron Diaz, who just made it into the top 20 at number 19 for her involvement in the Shrek franchise.
Harrison Ford topped the list with his mega box office hit Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Samuel L. Jackson and Morgan Freeman rounded out the top three spots respectively.
ScarJo has previously spoken about the pay gap between genders in Hollywood.
She told Cosmopolitan in May, “I think every woman has [been underpaid], but unless I’m addressing it as a larger problem, for me to talk about my own personal experience with it feels a little obnoxious.”
“It’s part of a larger conversation about feminism in general.”
