On Tuesday the actress shared a snap of herself in a very Carrie-inspired dress as she strutted outside of iconic New York department store Bloomingdales.
“Well. I guess the cat’s out of the (little brown) bag. As usual, we will keep you posted on every detail as we are able. I’m under a strict gag order until then. Xx, Sj,” she captioned the curious image.
Fans of the smash hit Sex and the City have been hanging out for another instalment of their four favourite characters since Sex and the City 2 aired in 2010. Rumours around a third movie have been gaining momentum for quite some time too.
Therefore it came as little surprise that SJP’s highly suggestive Instagram post would set tongues wagging in anticipation.
But it wasn’t meant to be, with the post actually being in reference to her new shoe line – the SJP Collection, which will now be stocked at Bloomies.
SJP took to her Instagram several hours later to set the record straight:
“Pinch me, I’m dreaming. After months and months of sworn secrecy, I can finally shout the news from the rooftop. Or even better, from the iconic @bloomingdales awning. Welcome to New York, @sjpcollection. You’re going to love it here. Finally, a permanent home in NYC. Ps. Forgive me for any previous misunderstandings. Twenty lashes with a wet noodle. Yours forever, Sj x”
Following the misunderstanding Warner Bros released a statement to E! News which explained: “The post is not in relation to the Sex and the City property.”
It’s not the first time the fashionista has apparently exploited her SATC fame to help plug her shoe line. She also titillated fans last year when she popped up at the location of Carrie’s old front door steps – again, with her shoe collection in hand.
Stop teasing us SJP and give us more Carrie now please!
