Let’s face it, birthdays in lockdown can be somewhat of a let down.
But Studio 10 host Sarah Harris, who turned 40 on Tuesday, embraced her milestone day with open arms.
The popular TV presenter took to Instagram to reveal the sweet way she spent her birthday – surrounded by her two sons and their homemade jewellery they made for her.
In a radiant make-up free selfie, the 40-year-old beams at the camera as her sons Paul, five, and Harry, three, embrace her with a warm hug.
However, two details shone out the most from the touching image: Sarah’s pasta necklace and cupcake cup earrings, which were no doubted crafted by her boy.
In the caption, Sarah reflected on entering her 40s and mused: “Hiya 40. I’m Sarah. Reckon you could go a a bit gentler on my back this decade, eh?”
The TV host continued the post with a message of gratitude for her followers, who wished her a happy birthday.
She penned, “Thank you for all the birthday lovin’ yesterday fam. I had THE BEST day. 💕”
Her birthday post was quickly flooded with messages from Sarah’s famous friends.
“Love you! Happy birthday beautiful. The best is yet to come xxx,” former newsreader Jessica Rowe wrote.
“Hip hip hip replacement my friend 😂😂,” journalist Shelly Horton teased.
Other famous friends shared messages of love to Sarah, with MasterChef judge Melissa Leong writing, “Happy birthday, lady!! 🔥🔥🔥, and journalist Belinda Russell commenting, “Happy birthday gorgeous one. And welcome to the 40s club. 🤘🏻😎.”
In March, Sarah separated from the father of her children, IT specialist Tom Ward.
The friendly exes are currently co-parenting, but the presenter revealed to The Daily Telegraph how she had been struggling to cope at times.
“I am not the first woman to do this, and I certainly won’t be the last. You just have to be organised, and everything has to run with military-like precision,” she said.
“It is not to say that there aren’t days where I get in the car and cry the whole way home and think, ‘that was a waste of makeup’.”
Sarah was married to Tom for seven years.
