Joshua James Corbett, during his court proceedings.

When asked by a dispatcher if the intruder was still in the house, she responded, “Yes, yes they are. I just saw them walk up into the attic… It was a man.

I’m locked in my closet. I have a safe door in my bedroom. I’ve locked it and I’m locked in the closet right now.”

The details of the Oscar winner’s phone call paint a terrifying picture.

At the time of the home invasion Sandra’s now 5-year-old son, Louis was reportedly with his nanny and wasn’t in the house.

James is now facing 19 felony charges which include stalking, residential burglary and possession of a machine gun.

It is alleged that he jumped the fence surrounding Sandra’s estate and broke into her home through a locked sun-room door on the first floor.

According to a police report, the intruder was unarmed but had love letters and magazine cut outs of Sandra on him at the time.

Upon his arrest, an officer states that James said, “I’m sorry. I love you Sandy.”

The 39-year-old, who has pleaded not guilty, continued with the same sentiment in the courtroom and was reportedly heard saying numerous times,

“Sandy, please don’t press charges, I am sorry.”
