Recently, Samantha Armytage returned to our TV screens for the latest season of Farmer Wants A Wife.
The appearance came after a career break following her shock exit from Sunrise.
While venturing back to work, Sam had a perspective-changing incident which she has candidly shared with her fans.
Speaking in her October column of Stellar magazine, Sam recounted the time she was caught in a “filthy vehicle” with a detached armrest, along with a face-mask-less taxi driver who got lost, drove over a gutter, into a parked car and in an accident zone.
Amidst the chaos of the car ride, Sam could only think to do one thing.
“Eventually I thought, I’ll do what any person living in the luckiest, most free and civilised country in the western world would do: complain.”
But she was struck down at every attempt, writing: “I realise these big companies ditched all their staff during the pandemic, but isn’t there anyone left who could pick up the phone and listen to my little whinge? A cleaner, perhaps?”
She went on to flag that she doesn’t “have much to complain about”.

“I didn’t know this before because, like most Aussies, I didn’t have much to complain about. My problems are real, not like the American who tweeted Domino’s because the pizza they’d ordered turned up with no toppings, only to realise that they’d opened the box upside down.
“Well, in the end, my problems weren’t actually real. I reattached that broken armrest, I made my plane (by a whisker) and that overworked, anonymous cleaner didn’t have to listen to a rant from a very lucky Aussie.”
Last month, Sam spoke to our sister site TV WEEK following her TV return, confessing that there’s a lot she doesn’t miss about her days at Sunrise.
“I don’t miss the hours and I don’t miss the attention,” she admitted.
