Samantha Armytage looks as though she’s preparing to become a stepmum, as her relationship with businessman Richard Lavender goes from strength to strength.
The couple celebrated Richard’s 60th birthday with an intimate family lunch, where Samantha showed she’s building a strong relationship with his daughters Grace and Sasha.
Both women greeted Sam, 43, affectionately, kissing her on the cheek before sitting down to talk and laugh with the Sunrise host.
After a long lunch with several friends, Richard’s daughters stayed to chat with Sam and their dad. Grace even showed off a dress she’d bought.
“[The girls] don’t mind Sam,” a source tells Woman’s Day. “But they don’t spend a lot of time with their father these days.”
The lunch, held at Sydney’s Chiswick restaurant, was a relaxed affair, with Richard receiving a birthday cake after their meal.
Sam looked happy as she socialised with Richard’s friends, sipping a glass of wine and sitting close to her new partner. The WW ambassador looked slim in a tight-fitting black T-shirt and pleated cream skirt.

Richard’s birthday outing comes just one week after Sam celebrated her 43rd birthday. The pair were spotted in a high-end Sydney jewellery store, sparking speculation they could be thinking about an engagement already.
The couple have been seen together around town several times, but at the weekend prefer to stay in the Southern Highlands, where they both have homes.
“Richard likes to take her out shooting on his property,” reveals our source.
