Eagle-eyed Matildas fans were overjoyed when Sam Kerr’s partner was spotted with a huge rock on her ring finger, sparking rumours the couple were secretly engaged.
Sam’s girlfriend, US footballer Kristie Mewis, 32, confirmed her engagement to People in November 2023.
She shared how Sam has just been such a huge support for her after her team came in last in the FIFA World Cup 2023.
“She’s just everything to me!” Kristie beamed about her now fiancée.

The loved-up pair, who have not confirmed the rumours, first met in 2019 while they were playing in the National Women’s Soccer League in the US.
Their relationship became public in 2021 when they were snapped in an on-field embrace at the Tokyo Olympics.
Despite living overseas from one another and having gruelling sporting schedules, the couple say they are stronger than ever.
“We both just want each other to do so well in our careers,” Sam told Gaffer.
