Like so many of our favourite celebrities, actor Russell Crowe is currently enjoying all that an Italian getaway has to offer – pizza, sunshine and, of course, romance!
The Gladiator star was spotted last week taking in Rome hand in hand with his long-term girlfriend, Britney Theriot, and sources tell Woman’s Day things “are getting very serious” between the lovebirds.
In between long lunches, the couple were seen taking in the historical sights – in particular, churches! But if the thought of big Italian church bells ringing wasn’t enough to get Rusty’s inner circle’s tongues wagging, his visit to Cartier would have done the trick!

(Image: Getty)During their holiday, the 58-year-old was seen visiting the iconic jeweller’s flagship store and has left many wondering if he’s preparing to pop the question!
“Everyone around them is buzzing that an engagement could be on the cards any minute,” dishes a close source.
“He’s been whisking her around to all her favourite places, and the fact he was spotted in Cartier has everyone waiting for an announcement.”
Cartier’s designs have long been adored by the stars, so it would come as no surprise if Rusty decided to get down on bended knee with one of their sparklers in hand.
The lovebirds were joined on their holiday by Russell’s sons, Charles, 18, and Tennyson, 16, who he shares with his ex-wife, musician Danielle Spencer.

(Image: Getty)“Rusty is very close with his boys – he’d never make a big decision like to remarry without their full approval,” continues the insider, who notes they both support their dad’s romance.
While Rusty and US-born Britney, 31, have been decidedly tightlipped about their relationship over the years, the couple confirmed their union with a kiss on a Sydney tennis court in November 2020.
The pair are believed to have first met on the set of his 2013 film Broken City where Britney was worked as an actress before recently changing careers, becoming a real estate agent.

(Image: Getty)The couple’s European holiday isn’t their first getaway together – late last year they spent time in Thailand and Malta where Russell filmed two movies.
Also in Europe is the actor’s 53-year-old ex Danielle, who married the Oscar winner in April 2003 at his farm in Nana Glen before calling time in 2012 and finalising their divorce six years later.
Danielle is expected to catch up with Russell and their boys later in the trip with sources confirming “they remain a very close family unit”.
