The Gladiator is prepping to be a groom! Nine years after his split from former wife Danielle Spencer, Russell Crowe’s apparently ready to walk down the aisle again – with new love Britney Theriot.
But he’s got a mission to complete first – get in fighting-fit shape.
Insiders say the 57-year-old, who gained weight to play the late Roger Ailes in 2019 series The Loudest Voice, has been staying active and following a strict diet ahead of popping the question to his American girlfriend.
“Russell’s doing everything he can to knock off the kilos,” says a source. “He wants to walk down the aisle looking his best.”
Dating 30-year-old fitness buff Britney – who he’s been snapped enjoying tennis sessions with in Sydney on several occasions – has also been a good motivator.
“He wants to be able to keep up with Britney,” says the insider of the Louisiana-based real estate agent and budding actress, who Russell is thought to have first met in 2013 on the set of his movie Broken City.
Despite their nearly 30-year age gap, another insider says Rusty and the blonde beauty – who have been romantically linked since 2019 – are a great match.
“The good thing is they’ve had a lot of time to get to know each other and talked through what they want from a relationship,” says the source.
“She wants kids, for example, which is another reason she’s got him on a fitness trip, and he wants to stay in Australia. Thankfully, Britney doesn’t want to raise her family anywhere else.”

“Everyone’s buzzing that he’s already bought a massive solitaire ring for her and they’re expecting an engagement announcement any day now,” a source tells Woman’s Day.
“He’s finally healed his wounds after his ex-wife [Danielle Spencer] left him and he’s ready to take that big step again.”
The Les Miserables star has always been open about wanting to settle down once more.
“I really need that,” said the father-of-two, who shares teen sons Charlie, 17, and Tennyson, 14, with Danielle.
“You just want the feeling that you have someone you can make a plan with.”

(Instagram)“Britney would like a big wedding while Russell would prefer a quiet ceremony on his estate with just family,” the source tells Woman’s Day of the star, who owns a 400-hectare farm, Nana Glen, near the Northern NSW town of Coffs Harbour.
“Instead they’re having fun coming up with happy mediums, from vineyards to islands and even bowling alleys!”
But the details of the proposal are all on Russell.
Says a pal, “Russell will propose when the timing’s right and not before.”
