The biannual title hit stands last month and in its debut addition, which features a beaming Duchess of Cambridge on the cover, the magazine takes an intimate look at royal life with behind-the-scenes stories and photographs of our favourite queens, princes and princesses.
The launch comes after the popularity of The Weekly’s popular souvenir specials celebrating William and Kate’s wedding, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the birth of Prince George.
Despite various political attempts to sever Australia’s ties with the royals and become a republic there is still an overwhelming curiosity with royal life and widespread affection for the next generation of the family.
“I have been privileged to meet members of the British and Danish royal families, and whether you’re a monarchist or not, royal life is undeniably fascinating,” says Royals editor Juliet Rieden.
The opening issue takes a look at Crown Princess Mary’s visit to Sydney and Prince Harry’s Antarctic adventure and reflects on the sweet love affair between the Queen and her lifelong Prince Charming, the Duke of Edinburgh.
