The former View host couldn’t express her gratitude enough after her daughter, Chelsea was found safe.
“Chelsea has been found and is safe in police custody – thank u all for the help and light #missingchildren,” the funny-lady tweeted to her 837 thousand followers.
According to TMZ the teen and her dog were located over 200kms from home with police able to pin point her location thanks to the GPS on her mobile phone.
Her daughter had not been seen since Tuesday, August 11 and her family were extremely concerned about the teenager’s well-being.
Rosie’s website also posted an appeal for information writing, “Rosie O’Donnell’s 17 year old daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell was reported missing. Nyack, New York police authorities have been looking for her in the Rockland County area since Sunday, August 16.”
It continued:” She left home with her six month old therapy dog named Bear… Chelsea stopped taking her medicine and is in need of medical attention.”
A representative for the 53-year-old mother-of-five explained in a statement earlier that, “Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness. It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family, and they just want her back safe.”
In a tweet the TV personality shared a photo of her daughter and Bear, the dog, to help search efforts, with the caption, “Chelsea and her dog bear – last seen in Nyack NY – may be in NYC – please call 845-358-0206 or 911”
Chelsea is Rosie’s adopted daughter with her former wife Kelli Carpenter with whom she shares three other children.
Earlier this year, the 17-year-old’s biological mum claimed to the National Enquirer that the comedian “stole” her daughter away.
Deanna Micoley, 37, controversially reported that the Emmy winner took advantage of her drug addiction, “I believe Rosie O’Donnell knew that I was in no condition to sign away my parental rights to my daughter” she told the publication.
Since taking to Twitter to announce her daughter’s safety, Rosie is yet to comment on where Chelsea whereabouts during the week .
