Roberto Cavalli has opened up about the overwhelming emotion he felt when he walked his daughter Cristiana down the aisle on her wedding day.

The 73-year-old Italian designer has opened up about the milestone moment in a touching blog post titled A Father’s Pride.

On his website Cavalli paid tribute to his kin and shared several intimate pictures of the day.

“I am happy, more happy than I can say!” wrote the legendary designer.

“To accompany your daughter to the altar on her wedding day is unlike any other experience you have ever had or even imagined,” he wrote. “You are churning with emotion! It is overwhelming.

“In that brief walk, in those few moments, the happy times we spent together flash before my eyes… Her first days of life… The first words… The first steps… The first day of school… The first love.”

Cavalli concluded the emotional post with a special toast to the bride, his eldest child: “Thank you Cristiana for all the joy you have given me and will continue to give me. I am, as I have always been, proud of you!”

Cristiana Cavalli, 49, previously revealed to W Magazine in 2012 she was not a fan of “big marriages” but delighted her father when she married her long-time fiancé, Francesco Agostinelli.
