Time to get out the wine and call the girls! Just one year after Bridget Jones’s Baby was released we might already be getting another installment.
While attending the Greenwich International Film Festival, Renee Zellweger was asked to comment on the possibility of another movie.
“Selfishly, I hope so!” she told Us Weekly “[Bridget’s] a lot of fun!”
It has been 16 years since Renee, 48, first played the charmingly disastrous but totally relatable Bridget, and it seems she isn’t ready to let her go just yet. We don’t blame her.
Unfortunately there’s no word on whether Colin Firth – aka the handsome but uptight Mr Darcy – is up for flick number four, but last September he admitted it was “wonderful” to work with Renee again.
“[Seeing Renee] was when I knew, or started to become optimistic, that this was worth doing,” he said of the third film. “When I saw how alive she was in the role, I thought this may be in good shape.”
But the bigger question is, now that Daniel Cleaver (played by Hugh Grant) has been found alive, will he show up to put a wedge between Bridget and Mr Darcy?
Well, we’ll just have to sit tight in our granny undies on this one…
Meanwhile, Renee revealed she’s getting ready to work behind the camera. “I have something that I’m going to do this summer that I haven’t done before and so I’m looking forward to that,” she said.
Wait, is she trying her hand at directing?!
“Yeah, we’ll see,” she adds. “We’ll see how that goes. We’ll see what happens!”
Hmm, maybe she’ll do more than star in the next Bridget Jones film…
