Today, the US is remembering John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr, who died in a plane crash in 1999 at the age of just 38.
Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and Lauren Bessette, along with JFK Jr. were flying near Martha’s Vineyard on their way to a wedding when their single-engine plane crashed into the Atlantic.
Kennedy Jr. was born on November 25, 1960, and was named after his father, President John F Kennedy. Following his father’s assassination, a three-year-old Kennedy Jr. captured the hearts of the world when he saluted his father’s coffin.
