Rebel Wilson’s offensive BAFTA joke

Aussie actress Rebel Wilson has come under fire at the BAFTA awards in London, delivering a quip about transgender people that has left people fuming.

She told the crowd she had “been practicing my transgender face” in the hopes of winning an award in the future; a reference to Eddie Redmayne’s performance as transgender artist Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl.

“I’ve never been invited to the Oscars because as we know, they are racists,” she continued.

She then praised the BAFTAs move to increase the diversity of its voting pool, saying “we all like to see diverse members”.
