We’ve heard of actresses being forced to shed weight to get into the industry, but does it also happen the other way around?
Rebel Wilson has revealed she piled on the pounds in an attempt to get famous.
The Aussie actress opened up about her weight in a recent interview with The Sunday Telegraph.
Rebel confessed she noticed a “bigger” girl on the comedy scene with a very similar style to her and noticed she was getting more laughs.
“And I remember distinctly thinking: ‘I think it’s because she’s fatter,’” the controversial star revealed.
“And then,” she continues, “I don’t know if I was mega-conscious but I thought: ‘How can I get more laughs? Maybe if I was a bit fatter…’
“And then suddenly I was fatter and doing comedy.”
Rebel talks about being squeezed into a very uncomfortable costume piece on a bloated day in the clip below. Post continues.
The Pitch Perfect actress continues, “I saw my size as being an advantage, whereas so many women see it as a disadvantage.

She also confessed to a hormone imbalance that made it easy for her to stack on the kilos.
But she shared that she likes to slim down in between roles.
“I’ll take six months off, and just do a total transformation,” she told The Telegraph.
“But then, so many people go: ‘Don’t you do it!’ But I think: ‘Why not?'”
