Hollywood is full of stick-thin celebrities but Rebel Wilson is glad she’s not one of them.
The curvaceous comedienne loves her fuller figure and is convinced it’s the reason she has had so much success in the notoriously competitive US market.
“I think most girls who are encouraged to come to LA and become actresses are usually the prettiest girls in their hometown of Iowa or wherever,” Rebel told In Touch magazine.
“One of the reasons my agents signed me is because I’m not like any other girl here. It has made things easier for me, because I’m distinctive.”
Now that she’s found fame, Rebel is determined to use her celebrity to boost the body image of girls who are used to being told they aren’t thin or pretty enough.
She has vowed she will never slim down because someone needs to be in the spotlight showing the world what real women look like.
“I want to inspire girls who don’t think they’re cool or pretty,” she said. “To do that, I need to put out a realistic version of what it’s like to be a girl who looks like me.
“Sometimes that means getting broken up with by a dude who says, ‘You’re too fat.’ That way, when my character wins, it’s gratifying.”
