The former Celebrity Apprentice contestant and media personality reportedly found out she had cancer three weeks ago.
Prue is expected to give a eulogy at the funeral of news veteran and close friend Ian Ross on Monday after he died from pancreatic cancer on Wednesday.
“It has been a hell of a week but I am feeling strong and positive about the future,” she told the Daily Telegraph.
“I know that more than 80 per cent of women survive breast cancer and I intend to be one of them.”

Prue, who is on an advisory board for Cancer Australia, thanked well-wishers for their support on Twitter on Friday.
“Thank you sincerely for yr beautiful words of encouragement. I have been very touched. I apologise for not having time to respond 2 u all,” she wrote.
