Moonwalking into Michael Jackson’s legacy is no easy feat for Prince Jackson

The King of Pop's heir apparent wants to make a name for himself, on his own terms.

At the age of 20, Michael Jackson’s son has kept a relatively low profile despite his Hollywood lineage.

In a rare move, Prince dropped by Good Morning America to share his profound new project.

While studying his film degree at Loyola Marymount University in LA, the eldest Jackson co-founded the organisation Heal Los Angeles.

Inspired by his father’s famous Heal the World charity, Prince’s work focuses on child abuse, homelessness and hunger.

“Recently, we partnered with a charity called A Sense of Home, which supports foster kids who have aged out of the system in a sort of preempt against homelessness, because it’s very hard to get on your feet once you got out of the system,” he said during his appearance on GMA.

“People don’t understand how the little things can add up and really make a big difference in someone’s life.”

He poignantly mused, “I’m not a fan of having my private or personal life being out there, but I understand the importance of showing what I do and hopefully trying to inspire others to continue spreading the good and helping the community.”

Fans were very impressed by how kind and eloquent Prince was during his chat on the breakfast show.

Prince was only 12 years old when his father passed away at the age of 50 in June 2009.

While being the son of such a legend comes with its own hardships, it’s clear he’s striving to live up to his father’s name.

Last year, he launched his business King’s Son Productions, which taps into Prince’s love for being behind the lens.

He currently works on music videos, short films and is hoping to one day create his first feature movie.

Despite his unique parenting methods, Prince couldn’t be more proud to be MJ’s son.

“My father was the King of Pop and King’s Son Productions has this mantra where a title is earned, but a name is given,” he expressed on the American breakfast show.

“So, I was born as Prince and that was the name my dad had given to me, but my dad had earned the epithet King of Pop and that’s through hard work and years of training and everything that he worked so hard to get.”

Concluding, “So it’s a form of motivation because my name is Prince, but for all intensive purposes I am the King’s son — working to get my own epithet.”

The Jackson kids have come such a long way.

No doubt MJ would be profoundly proud of his son.

Also making his name shine, is daughter Paris. Making her foray into the creative world, the 18-year-old recently signed on with IMG models and even tried her hand at co-designing a custom Jeremy Scott gown, which she rocked at the Grammy Awards.

Meanwhile, the youngest Jackson sibling, 15-year-old Blanket changed his name to Bigi last year and is currently in high school.
