With his wedding to Meghan Markle less than two weeks away, Prince Harry has kissed goodbye to his days as the royal family’s most eligible bachelor with an epic bucks party in the Swiss ski town of Verbier that reportedly cost more than $1million.
“The posh resort is a long-time favourite of the royals, especially the younger generation,” a source tells publication In Star of the super-secret getaway chosen by Harry’s party planner, his brother and best man Prince William. And, also reported, the bash cost “about $1.34 million”.
At press time, it was being reported that William flew his little brother and 15 of his pals to the Swiss Alps on a private jet fully stocked with champagne, beer and snacks to enjoy on the journey, claims the royal insider.
On the ground in Switzerland, William had hired a private chef to whip up gourmet delicacies for the royal party, and a masseuse was on hand to give massages after a day on the slopes.
Their accommodation was naturally fit for a king – and his brother.
Word is Harry and William’s uncle, Prince Andrew, offered up his palatial $23 million, seven-bedroom chalet for the partygoers.
“[No doubt it was an] action-packed weekend with endless activities to choose from,” the American publication’s insider continues.
But things really kicked off in the clubs, with the source claiming the group probably started their evenings “downing shots of tequila” – Harry’s favourite drink – and playing games like Cards Against Humanity and Never Have I Ever. Understandably, that bucks party staple, strippers, were not part of the festivities.
But if things did get too rowdy, the Queen was reportedly relying on William to bring his younger brother back into line.
“She calls William ‘the sensible one’ and ordered him to keep a watchful eye on Harry,” says the source.
