The song, titled Recovering, was written to help the French-Canadian singer “move forward” from her husband’s death.
“At the [Billboard Music Awards] when I saw her, I said ‘For you to take the time to really write a song, to give me a tool, a piece of luggage to help me to move forward to walk to keep going…'”
Renee died at age 73 in January following a tough battle with throat cancer.
Opening up about her gratitude towards her fans in the wake of her grief, Celine said, “They are so considerate for my happiness and my sadness, my good and bad moments, and they are [always] supporting me.”
