Since a tragic car crash claimed Paul Walker’s life in November 2013, his daughter Meadow Walker has understandably been left heartbroken.
But now, the 16-year-old is making sure her father’s memory will be kept alive forever by launching The Paul Walker Foundation.
Taking to Instagram on September 12 – Paul’s birthday – Meadow, whose mother is Rebecca Soteros, published a stunning throwback snap with her dad alongside a heart-felt caption explaining her exciting new mission.
“Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill,” she penned.
Before explaining: “I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching The #PaulWalkerFoundation (@paulwalkerfdn) on his birthday. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my father. #DoGood.”
In the image, a young Meadow cuddles up to The Fast and the Furious star, with both of their piercing blue eyes stealing the show.
Meanwhile the charity’s page, which slogan is “do good”, has already clocked up over 70, 000 followers.
According to the foundation it will aim to “empower future generations by providing grants and scholarships to selected students and researchers pursuing marine science educations or working on advancements in the field.”
Meadow will be playing a huge part in the company’s work, as the website explains: “Many of his traits have been passed onto his daughter Meadow. Meadow is excited to be carrying on his legacy.”
“One of the key ways she plans to meet this challenge is by helping ocean leaders of tomorrow become beacons in the fight to protect our oceans, wildlife, and ourselves.”
A beautiful tribute indeed.
