The Crocodile Dundee star has been longing to return home to Australia for years but Paul Hogan now has a very good reason to stay in Los Angeles.
A family insider tells Woman’s Day that 83-year-old Paul’s granddaughter and rising Seven star Mylee is relocating from Sydney to the US to work for the network there – and she’s moving in with Pops!
“After the Sunrise drama around the now infamous Glenn McGrath joke that went horribly wrong, Mylee wants to start afresh in the US, especially as her grandad is there,” explains the source of the red-faced moment when Mylee made a joke that fell flat about the Aussie cricket great being dead.
“Having Mylee in his house is going to really give Paul a reason to live his best life and she wants to spend as much time with him as she can.”
In late 2022, the Australian legend admitted he had been struggling with poor health and would return home if it wasn’t for his frailty. Paul had a pacemaker fitted following heart and kidney issues.
In a previous interview with Tracey Grimshaw on A Current Affair, Paul confessed he was diagnosed with retro peritoneal fibrosis.
“I’ve been better. I had a problem on the aorta in the kidney and the treatment fixed it but it shrunk me,” he said. “I just… I’ve lost all my body fat and the muscles all shrank and the strength has come back because it left me feeble.”
“I’ve had such a gifted life. I’ve had so many wonderful things happen to me without deserving them so I shouldn’t complain.”
