Paris Jackson has been dubbed the newest ‘It Girl’ in Hollywood by Vanity Fair.
Clad in a white robe, her blonde curls are reminiscent of another pop icon – Madonna, who was a close friend (and rumoured former fling) of her dad Michael.
The 19-year-old model and actress has decided it’s time to embrace her star status, after many tough years following her father’s death when she was just 11 which includes struggles with depression and growing up with constant media scrutiny.
But Paris reveals her future is not set in stone, telling Vanity Fair “she sings and can play a few instruments” and isn’t totally opposed to having a musical career of her own. “I haven’t yet felt the need to make a career out of it. We’ll see.”
After trying her hand at modelling by signing with IMG Models earlier in 2017, and appearing on two magazine covers already this year, the LA native is also set to make her acting debut in the upcoming musical-drama series called Star.
Performing arts weren’t always Paris’ dream though, revealing that when she was “growing up she wanted to be an astronaut, a vet, and then a nurse” – a far cry from her dad’s show-stopping career.
“I guess the recurring theme was that I wanted to make a difference,” she says.
Her chosen topics of protest are the ongoing Dakota Access Pipeline saga, and President Trump’s climate-change agenda.
“It’s hard to stay focused on the crucial issues with the daily distractions coming from the White House.”
