When we think of Pamela Anderson, it’s hard not to imagine her running along the beach in her red swimsuit as C.J Parker in nineties hit Baywatch.
Granted, she’s one of the world’s biggest sex symbols but there’s a lot more to Pam than meets the eye whether’s she’s championing animal rights or raising her sons.
In the wake of the release of miniseries Pam & Tommy, see where Pam is today and the legacy she’s left behind.
Whilst she found fame on Baywatch and Home Improvement, Pamela’s career has seen her embrace reality TV in both the US and UK.
The blonde bombshell starred on the US version of Dancing With The Stars, the UK’s Dancing on Ice as well as a brief appearance on The Hills: New Beginnings .
She even made a nod to her Baywatch stardom in the 2017 film where she made a cameo as Captain Casey Jean Parke but admitted she wasn’t a fan of the remake.
“Let’s just keep the bad TV as bad TV!” she remarked on Watch What Happens With Andy Cohen in 2020.
While her whirlwind romance and sex tape scandal with ex-husband Tommy Lee made headlines, the two continue to co-parent their sons Brandon and Dylan.
“They’re great kids. I’m really fortunate because it could have been a disaster,” Pamela shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in May 2015.
“I’m so proud of them. They’re such gentlemen … they spoil everybody rotten. And they spoil me rotten! They’re just real sweethearts.”
After her split from Tommy, Pamela briefly married Kid Rock in July 2006 and the two split four months later. In October 2007 she married Rick Salomon with whom she separated from a month later. Their marriage was annulled in February 2008.
She rekindled her romances with both Tommy and Rick briefly but didn’t marry again until January 2020 when she wed Jon Peters. Pamela, who split with Jon after 12 days, later claimed that the two were never legally married.
In 2020 Pamela married Dan Hayhurst, whom she met at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, but in January 2022, it was revealed they had split.
Pamela is also a passionate activist for numerous causes.
Having been a vegetarian since her early teens, the actress is an active member of animal protection organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and is now a vegan.
“Vegans make better lovers. The cholesterol in meat, eggs and dairy causes hardening of the arteries (and not much else). It slows the flow of blood to all the body’s organs, not just the heart. You can improve your overall health and increase stamina in the bedroom by going vegan,” she wrote on social media back in January 2021.
In 2018, Pamela famously slammed Prime Minister Scott Morrison claiming he “trivialised” the suffering of Australian WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
“Rather than making lewd suggestions about me, perhaps you should instead think about what you are going to say to millions of Australians when one of their own is marched in an orange jumpsuit to Guantanamo Bay – for publishing the truth. You can prevent this,” she said at the time.
Pamela, who now lives a quiet life in her home country of Canada, hasn’t posted on social media since January 2021.
“This will be my last post on Instagram Twitter or Facebook,” she wrote at the time.
“I’ve never been interested in social media. And now that Im settled into the life Im genuinely inspired by reading and being in nature I am free.
Thanks for the love. Blessings to you all. Let’s hope you find the strength and inspiration to follow your purpose and try not to be seduced by wasted time 🙏That’s what THEY want and can use to make money. Control over your brain.”
