Orlando Bloom has spoken for the first time about his relationship with Erica Packer and the bizarre love square, that he has found himself tangled in.
Despite it sounding like a plot of Hollywood movie, the 37-year-old say’s there’s nothing complicated about it, regardless of how it may seem.
Speaking to Sydney Confidential ahead of his trip to Australia to attend Oz ComicCon events this week, Orlando said he and Erica are just friends and have been for more than 10 years.
“I’ve known Erica since I was 19 back in London,” Orlando said.
“I’ve known Erica before she was married to James, when she was married to James and afterwards and we are all mates.”
The Lord of the Rings star went on to say: “It probably looks odd but we are mates, we have all known each other for a long time.”
Orlando and Erica first set tongues wagging of a possible romance when they were spotted holidaying together in Spain back in July.
Nonetheless, Orlando insists there’s nothing romantic going on between the pair. In fact, when asked straight out if he was dating Erica, he simply laughed it off.
“No, I’ve known Erica for a long time, we are great mates. She is a great girl,” he said.
Orlando also revealed that he and ex-wife Miranda Kerr, with whom he has a son, Flynn, have remained close ever since their split in October last year.
“Family is important and we are so lucky because we get on so well. It’s great. We are great co parents to Flynn. We really support each other.
“I’m very very lucky, it’s a solid unit.”
Meanwhile the verdict is still out on whether the same can be said for Miranda, who is rumoured to be secretly dating Erica’s estranged husband, Australian billionaire businessman James Packer.
The supermodel and media tycoon were spotted enjoying quality time together on board Jame’s floating palace, the Arctic P, just last month.
