Orlando Bloom played it coy when he was asked about THAT Bieber punch up and also commented on his links with Erica Packer on Kyle and Jackie O’s radio show this morning.
The Hollywood star is out in Australia at the moment for the fan festival Oz Comic-Con and appeared on the Kyle and Jackie O show this morning on KIIS FM where Kyle brought up the infamous ‘punch-up’ between Orlando and Justin Bieber and asked Orlando exactly what went down: “That is such old news … there’s nothing to say,” the star said, laughing it off.
Although Kyle pressed him for details, Orlando just repeated three times: “that’s old news.”

The story of course went global when Orlando was caught on camera taking a swing at young popstar Bieber at a restaurant in Ibiza, reportedly due to his link’s with Orlando’s ex – Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerr. Meanwhile, Orlando was also pictured hanging out on holiday’s with Erica Packer around the same time. Erica is of course the ex of billionaire casino mogul James Packer who Orlando’s ex is thought to be dating.
Not one to leave such juicy gossip alone, Kyle asked Orlando about his links to Erica Packer, to which he responded: “We’ve known each other since I was 19…We used to knock around together – there was a group of us. I knew her well before she married James….we’re still good friends.”
Kyle also asked what Orlando was doing in Ibiza, because during July, it seemed like every celebrity on earth were all flocking to the exotic party island off the coast of Spain.
“I haven’t been there for years and years and I had a bunch of mates say to me – we’re going, come along, so I did.”
In town for Oz Comic-Con where he will be a major drawcard for fans of The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean franchises, Orlando said that his friend, Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch recommended that he come out for the famous fan fest: “Have you ever done Australian Comic-Con?” Orlando said his friend Benedict asked him, recommending the Aussie fans to him.
He also spoke about his upcoming film – the third instalment in theHobbittrilogy which is currently in post-production: “It looks amazing… I think this last movie is going to out-stand everybody…it’s just phenomenal [the third film in a trilogy] is always the most dramatic”.
When asked about how we felt about meeting with fans, he brought up the recent reports of the Queen not being a fan of selfies, saying how she used to be greeted by her adoring public wherever she went but that “now she’s greeted by hundreds of mobile phones”
Kyle asked if he was a big fan of the royal family, to which Orlando replied: “Well I’m English – you’ve gotta love them. The royals are great man!”
When asked if he’s ever been attended an official function at Buckingham Palace, Orlando said: “I love ‘em but not that much! – joking. No, I’ve never been – never had the chance.”
Orlando said he’s in Oz for a week to ten days: “enough time to catch up with some of the family, and friends,” suggesting that he might be catching up with his former in-laws – Miranda’ Kerr’s parents, and little Flynn’s grandparents.
Orlando also had some touching words to say about his son Flynn, age 3: “He’s a beautiful boy. Super-happy. We both have a nanny around all the time just so there’s somebody [to keep him happy]…He’s running wild – he’s nearly four now.”
As a celebrity who is a constant source of interest for the press and paparazzi, Orlando also had some comments to say about the recent celebrity nude photo leak scandal that has reportedly affected over 100 female celebrities who had private information and photos hacked from their phone’s iCloud.
”That is just so wrong. What can you say, it’s awful [such a] violation,” said Orlando.
“On my phone, I’ve got mostly photos of my son. People can do what they want with their lives but it’s terrible that it’s been exposed”.
Orlando will be meeting and greeting fans in Brisbane at Oz Comic-Con this weekend on September 6 and 7 and in Sydney the following weekend on September 13 and 14.
