The Project co-host Gorgi Coghlan was left mortified last night after a wardrobe malfunction left her looking topless and bra-less on air.
Being live television, viewers were of course quick to notice Coghlan’s sleeveless bronze-and-blue dress left little to the imagination.
One tweeted, “It’s the colour with the seams, when I first looked up at the TV you looked topless.” Another said, “It looked for a minute like Gorgi Coghlan was just wearing a very, very low blue boob tube … Dad almost fell off his chair!'”
Other viewers also shared their reactions during the show. Their responses ranged from amused to envious.
Halfway through the show, Gorgi was alerted to the viewer response, and tried to jokingly cover up the dress with the sheets in front of her.
However, with her signature wit and sense of humour, Coghlan took the whole incident in her stride and had a laugh along with her co-hosts before apologising to any viewers she may have offended.
“I’m so sorry, it actually isn’t, it’s just the seams, there’s heaps of buffering there and heaps of stuff there but I apologise,” she said.
“I do apologise if I have offended you.”
This is not the first time Channel 10 have been in the news over a newsreader’s wardrobe malfunction. In March Natarsha Belling found herself under viewer-fire after she wore a ‘penis jacket’ on air.
At the time she told Daily Mail Australia, “The news should be about the news, not what you’re wearing.”
We couldn’t agree more.
