The comedian and mother-of-two was presenting the award for Outstanding Entertainment Program, when she accidentally forgot to read out the names of the nominees first!
Distracted by her own joke as she flirted with singer Ricky Martin, Julia, 47, instead skipped straight to reading out the winner – The Voice.
After The Voicejudges took to the stage and gave their acceptance speeches, the I’m A Celeb host realised her mistake and recovered like a pro, returning to the mike to poke fun at herself.
“Did I forget to talk about the nominees?” Julia asked the audience.
“It’s live, don’t tell anyone, we can cut it out later! We’re going to talk about the nominees later when I’m in really big trouble.”
“It’s just inappropriate to talk about who they are now, isn’t it?”
Oops! Julia realises her mistake!
Julia then changed her mind and decided it wasn’t too late.
“Let’s pretend it hasn’t happened, ladies and gentlemen, the nominees … I wish I had my glasses,” Julia said as she read out the nominees.
“Come on, why did it have to be me, couldn’t it be someone groovy who did that?”
Julia needn’t worry too much, over the years the Logies has been host to its fair share of onstage flubs. However but it’s rare that anyone is able to recover from it with such humour and wit!
The audience seemed to love it too, with many people tweeting the smooth recovery was not only hilarious but should earn her the role of presenter at next year’s awards.
