Beloved Neighbours and Playing For Keeps actress Olympia Valance has announced her engagement to boyfriend and AFL star, Thomas Bellchambers.
Taking to Instagram while on an idyllic vacation through Queensland, the star shared a loved up snap to declare the exciting news.
“Today is a special day. The man of my dreams proposed to me. I get to marry my best friend,” she wrote.
Thomas shared the same photo on his Instagram, writing: “Couldn’t be happier…stuck with me now. 💍❤️”
Olympia and Tom first made their romance “Instagram official” when they shared the same snap from the Moët & Chandon 150th birthday event in June last year.
“I go to work, do my job and then come home to my boyfriend,” Olympia told TV WEEK not long after they began a relationship.
“It’s nice at the moment.”
The couple had been dating for just a month around the time Olympia’s grandfather, 88-year-old Dimitri Gogos, died.
The 27-year-old described Thomas’ support through the tragedy to Who as “really amazing.”
“He has come to me at a good time in my life,” she added.
When chatting to TV WEEK for season two of AFL drama Playing For Keeps, Olympia joked about the parallels of playing on-screen WAG Tahlia Woods and supporting AFL star Tom from the sidelines in real life.
“There are definitely similarities,” she says with a laugh.
“It’s hilarious, really. Sometimes I read the scripts and I’m like, ‘Is this my life?’ Some of the conversations in the show are ones I’ve had with Thomas.”
However, there has been one big change for the actress since she fell for the star footballer.
“Obviously, I’ve changed AFL teams [as a supporter],” Olympia says jokingly.
“I know far more about the game than I ever did before – and I watch the football all the time now.”
The pair were instantly smitten, with Olympia going on to say that just a few months in to their romance they were already living together.
“We live together; we haven’t spent a night apart since. I’m absolutely happy.”
Thomas confirmed to the Herald Sun earlier this year that he and Olympia had purchased a “country weekender” together near Daylesford, Victoria, which settled on Valentine’s Day.
“We’d love to spend 2-3 days a week up there,” he told the publication.
“It’s an exciting next step for us. We are both super happy and couldn’t be going better.”
The couple have regularly been sharing scenic snaps of the gorgeous property ever since!
