Despite being diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer in 2017, the Australian icon is celebrating another year with her beloved husband, John Easterling by her side, while her relationship with daughter, Chloe Lattanzi is stronger than ever.

In the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic, she told reporters, “I’m winning over it well and that’s how I see it,” adding that she has one powerful tool in living with her diagnosis.

“I don’t think about it a lot, to be honest. Denial is a really good thing and I’m getting stronger and better all the time! I’m doing well!”

And the Grease icon’s friends agree.

“Olivia feels very blessed that she’s still feeling great despite receiving the grim diagnosis of her cancer relapse a few years ago,” a source close to the 73-year-old tells Woman’s Day, adding that managing her pain with medicinal marijuana – thanks to her hubby, 69, and daughter, 35 – has helped hugely.

“She credits her vibrancy and happiness to her husband and his pioneering research into using plants as medicine. Without him, she feels she wouldn’t be living anywhere near such a high quality of life.”

In a recent interview with US talk show host, Hoda Ktob, Olivia was the picture of health. Zooming in from the California home she shares with her husband-of-13-years, the twinkle in ONJ’s eye was unmistakable and her smile infectious, with our source admitting the bubbly star is truly living her best life.

“She wouldn’t have missed these years of her life for quids, because in some ways, they are the very best she’s had. She is so in love with John and at peace with their quiet life.

“They spend their days together, her playing music if she feels the need, but otherwise they potter in the garden and she spends a lot of time reading, or catching up with friends at home in Australia via Zoom.”

After selling her Byron Bay health retreat, Gaia in October for an incredible $30 million, it doesn’t appear that Olivia has any plans to return to Oz, because the two most important people in her life call the US home.

“Her relationship with her daughter is the best it’s ever been, and she spends lots of time up in Oregon with her. John has bonded closely with Chloe since they’re both in the marijuana business, and Olivia feels very fortunate to be there to watch their relationship blossom.”

“Olivia’s all about the simple life these days,” the insider tells Woman’s Day. “She prefers life out of the spotlight. She’s cutting back on her responsibilities, selling off a lot of her real estate, and just sort of looking back on her incredible life.

“She has a lot to be proud of and she’s focused on enjoying her success. Learning to live with cancer and treat it wholistically has, in some ways, given her a new lease on life. She feels, for the most part, fantastic.”
