Itโs been over 10 years since Olivia Newton-Johnโs ex-Partner of nine years, Patrick McDermott, set out on an overnight fishing trip that he would never return from.
Since that fateful day in 2005, the world has tried to get the bottom of the mystery that occurred at sea.
Now, months on from our discovery, the Grease star has spoken out, admitting that she refuses to believe the former cameraman would fake his own death to start a new life.

โYeah it was very hard. He was lost at sea and nobody really knows what happened,โ she said.
When asked if she still spares a thought for what really happened to Patrick, Olivia responded: โOf course, itโs human to wonder. But you knowโฆ those are the things in life you have to accept and let go,โ she said.
Elaborating, she went on: โBecause whenever you go through difficult times thereโs always those concerns. But you know, I live on, and of course questions come up, thatโs human.โ

In March, Womanโs Day exclusively learned that Patrick was alive and well, and working in the isolated Mexican village of Sayulita.
Speaking exclusively to Womanโs Day, private investigator Philip Klein alleged that Patrick, now 59, โwas probably now working in the yachting industry for a high-profile family down there.โ
Meanwhile, John Nazarian, who was the very first detective to investigate the case, told us, โItโs rumored he was with a German national. I spoke to people there [in Mexico]. The girl he was traveling with was described as having a German accent.โ
โTo come up with the conclusion that he fell off the boat, and allegedly no one saw him fall off the boat, is the most preposterous thing Iโve ever heard in my life,โ John claimed.

โHe was lost at sea and nobody really knows what happened,โ says Olivia.
In 2008 the Grease sweetheart wed her second husband, John Easterling.
In the 60 Minutesโ tell-all, the mother-of-one also opened up on her daughterโs troubled upbringing after she was unwittingly thrust into the spotlight on the coattails of her fame.
It hasnโt exactly been smooth sailing for Oliviaโs daughter Chloe Lattanzi, who has suffered from an eating disorder and debilitating substance abuse in her 30 short years.

Chloe says her upbringing in the public eye contributed to struggles with cocaine and alcohol abuse.
Speaking of how her daughter had been affected by the Hollywood lights, Oliva said she felt great empathy towards Chloe.
โI think itโs hard to be the child of a person in the limelight, I really understand that,โ the Grammy winner said.
โThereโs privilege but thereโs also other things that come along with that.โ
Now, Olivia is proud to say that her daughter is doing much better. โSheโs doing really well! Sheโs happy and workingโฆ sheโs in a good place.โ

In 2013, Chloe was treated for alcohol and cocaine addiction.
She told Womanโs Day at the time: โI was using most days and nights. And not only was I doing coke, I was drinking vodka heavily also. I had to combine the two,โ however nowadays the aspiring singer seems much happier and healthier.
Last year she gave a message of support to her Instagram followers, โFor anyone out there struggling with addiction. I feel you. Keep your sobriety. You never regret not drinkingโ
