“The maternal pull is strong”: At 49, Nicole Kidman admits she wants another child

Nicole Kidman has never been one to shy away from telling it like it is and now - despite nearing 50 years old - she’s revealed that perhaps there’s time yet for another child.

Speaking with US TV show hosts Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein, the Lion star admitted that one of her youngest daughters would quite like another sibling.

Revealing that she had discussed the topic of adoption with her children the Lion actress said: “Yeah because I’m 49 and they’re like we’d love a…One of them wants another one, the other one doesn’t.”

She continued, “I never say never because the maternal pull is strong. My sister has six children…My grandmother had her last child at 49.”

“They said she’d been the oldest woman to give birth in the hospital… At that time that was pretty unusual.”

The Aussie actress, who now lives in Nashville, already has two children, Faith Margaret, six, and Sunday Rose, eight, with husband Keith Urban, and is also a mother to Bella, 24, and Connor, 21, who she adopted with ex-husband Tom Cruise.

In the same interview, the Australian-sweetheart also shared that she and her country rocker husband Keith Urban, also 49, are very open with their children about needing their ‘alone’ time while the kids are home.

The star bluntly revealed that when the mood strikes, “[We tell them] Mummy and Daddy need to have kissy-kissy time.”

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have now been married for over ten years.

It’s clear that for the doting mum and loving wife, family will always come first.

In a recent interview, a teary Nicole explained that as an older mum she worries about leaving her children behind too soon.

Speaking with reporter Tracy Smith, Nic said, “I would just like to – it makes me sad – I would just like to be here long enough to have my children grow up and for me to see them thriving. Right? So that’s all I ask. And that my husband and I are with each other. Simple! Simple requests.”

The picture of happiness! On a recent trip to Sydney’s Balmoral beach the family were seen laughing and smiling.

She added, “Just wanting to be here. I’m an older mother, so, you know…”

“It’s that prayer of, ‘Gosh let me be here.’”

“Oh, please. Yeah. Please. Please. But, hey, what will be will be.”
