Unlike Angelina Jolie and her 5-year-old daughter Vivienne, who appear together in Maleficent, don’t expect to see Nicole Kidman’s girls on the big screen alongside their mum anytime soon.
Oscar-winning Nicole says she has no desire for her four adorable children to follow in mum’s footsteps, saying it’s the “last thing” she would want.
Nicole, who has two children with hubby Keith Urban, Sunday Rose, 5, and Faith, 3, and two with former flame Tom Cruise, Isabella, 21, and Connor, 17, says she couldn’t bear watching her children experience the personal rejection that comes with the industry.
“I think as a parent the last thing you want is your child to be an actor, because it’s a really tough existence,” says Nicole.
“We’re always waiting for somebody to choose us and say, ‘I believe in you,’ and there are only certain people that can handle that.”
But despite not being keen on idea, Nicole says she would still back her children if they chose to pursue an acting career.
“A lot of the attacks are personal attacks, a lot of the rejections are personal rejections. If my children wanted to be actors I would support them but I’d also want to protect them.”
