Speaking with reporter Tracy Smith, Nic said, “I would just like to – it makes me sad – I would just like to be here long enough to have my children grow up and for me to see them thriving. Right? So that’s all I ask. And that my husband and I are with each other. Simple! Simple requests.”

She added, “Just wanting to be here. I’m an older mother, so, you know…”

“It’s that prayer of, ‘Gosh let me be here.’”

“Oh, please. Yeah. Please. Please. But, hey, what will be will be.”

Nicole has every desire to expand her family, admitting last year, “I had my last one at 43. My grandmother had her last at 49. Every month, I’m like, ‘I hope I’m pregnant!'”

It’s clear that for the doting mum and loving wife, family will always come first.

Nicole and husband, country rocker Keith Urban, 49, are the proud parents to their two beautiful daughters Sunday Rose, eight, and Faith Margaret, five.

Nic also shares two children with ex-husband, actor Tom Cruise – Isabella Jane Cruise, 23, and Connor Cruise, 21.

Nic and Keith rung in ten years of marriage in June this year.

Last month, Nic spoke to The Today Show about how she maintains that all important work-life balance.

“It is a juggling act – it really is,” she began.

“There are times when it gets put out to a family meeting and we decide if we can move for a period of time, or if Mummy can make a film or Daddy can do this…”

The Big Little Lies star even recounted the most recent “family meeting.”

She said, “Primarily, it was about whether I was going to do Photograph 51 (which was a play I did in London) and whether I could take that to New York and do it.”

“Both my kids said no. And my husband said, ‘I hope not’ [laughs].”

“That’s the life of an actress who ultimately prioritises family because that’s what’s going to happen at times.”

“I would have loved to have done [Photograph 51] on Broadway, but I love my husband and kids more.”
