Nicole Kidman packed up her entire family and jetted back to Australia last week as her beloved mother Janelle suffered another debilitating health scare.
In photos obtained exclusively by Woman’s Day, the Big Little Lies star, 52, was seen looking downcast as she gently guided her 79-year-old mum into Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital.
By her side was Nicole’s ever-supportive husband, Keith Urban, 51. Their children, Sunday Rose, 11, and Faith Margaret, eight – while absent from the hospital – joined their parents on the dash from the US across the Pacific to be with their grandmother.
“It’s times like this that Nicole hates being so far away,” an insider close to the actress tells. “She knows all too well how quickly someone can take a turn for the worst, and it destroys her to think of anything happening to Janelle.”
Nicole’s concerns for her loved ones are understandable. Her father, Dr Anthony Kidman, died suddenly of a heart attack in 2014 and two years later Janelle – who battled and beat breast cancer when Nicole was a teenager – was rushed to hospital with a heart-related illness.
Last year the actress and Keith flew back to Australia for a family emergency after Janelle was hospitalised again.
“She worries about her mum every single day, and all Keith can do is be there for her,” says the source.
While back in Sydney, Nicole, Keith and their daughters were also spotted at Sunday mass in Lavender Bay.
