Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are one of Hollywood’s strongest couples.
Don’t believe us? Just glimpse literally any of their red carpet photos, seen lovingly gazing at one another, or their social media accounts full of sweet dedications like Keith’s most recent birthday tribute.
The returning Voice coach took to Instagram to share a very on-brand photo of his wife, to mark her 54th lap around the sun.
“Happy happy birthday babygirl !!!!!!❤️🎊🎉😻👄,” Keith penned alongside a snap of the couple with their heads together as Nic holds a big bouquet of flowers.
The Blue Ain’t Your Colour singer recently opened up about his marriage to the Australian actress and how it was only strengthened during lockdown.
With creative industries like film and music brought to a halt, Keith confessed he struggled to stay motivated, instead choosing to “get in my trackies, sit on the couch and watch TV with Nic and the kids”.
“I did that [nothing] for a while. The family got super-tight during that period.”
Still in awe of his wife after nearly 15 years of marriage, Keith explains it’s Nicole who inspires his music and work ethic.
“I definitely married up. Isn’t that what we’re all supposed to be doing? She’s just very willing to try things; that’s rubbed off on me.”
Since tying the knot at St Patrick’s Estate in Sydney’s iconic Manly in June, 2006, the couple have welcomed two daughters Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith Margaret, eight.
In a 2007 Vanity Fair interview, the Big Little Lies star confessed their meeting “wasn’t like the earth shook.”
And that may have something to do with the fact that it took Urban four months to actually get around to asking Kidman out on a date.
In a 2013 Ellen DeGeneres interview, Kidman explained: “I’m like, ‘You didn’t love me at first sight, you didn’t notice me,’ and he’s like, ‘Yes I did but I just didn’t let on’,” she laughed. “But we kind of met and then about four months later he called me.”
