Two of Australia’s biggest stars have reunited on stage for a very special cause.
While attending his Broadway musical The Music Man, Nicole Kidman surprised Hugh Jackman, and a gleeful audience, with a generous act.
As a bidding war began for a signed hat, Kidman’s voice rang through the crowd as she bid a whopping $100,000.
Cheers quickly erupted from the audience, and the excitement was palpable as the Australia star began to walk towards the stage and embrace a shocked Jackman in a hug.
“Nic, I just want to be clear this is not Australian dollars,” Jackman quipped.
Ever the good sport, the actress wasn’t phased and simply said: “I’ll get it tonight.”
“I love you. I love broadway and I love what they do” Nicole then gushed, adding that the show was “extraordinary”.
The Wolverine actor was quick to return the compliments, saying: “I’ve known Nic for almost 30 years. I worked with her and I can tell you this is not a surprise. She’s one of the most generous souls I know. You’re a beautiful, beautiful person.”
Hugh was equally as gushing on Instagram following the kind act, writing: “The generosity and love emanating from @nicolekidman leaves me speechless. Thank you Nic for your friendship and support! @musicmanbway @nicholastheward @bcefa.”
Nicole responded to the post with an equally saccharine comment, penning: “Darling Hugh, To my friend of 30 years Right back at you such a generous gorgeous man, it was a brilliant night in the theatre and an honor to be able to donate to @bcefa! + Congratulations to the talented cast…”

The two performers have only shared the screen once, in Baz Luhrmann’s 2008 film Australia. But their friendship has blossomed behind the scenes.
The Bombshell actress has previously confessed that Hugh and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness helped her kickstart her acting career when she would crash on their lounge in Los Angeles.
“She was one of my best friends,” Nic said of Deb, as per the Huff Post. ” She gave me the chance to stay there and we could go and audition.”
“Both of them were so influential in helping me get started in the States.”
According to Nic, the couple were also instrumental in helping her heal after her 2001 divorce from fellow actor Tom Cruise.
Hugh is currently portraying the role of Harold Hill in the Broadway revival of The Music Man.
Along with the cast and crew, he has been working on the production for two years.
