Why Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban don’t exchange Christmas gifts

Nicole Kidman dropped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show, telling the host what the Kidman-Urban clan have planned for the festivities.

The 49-year-old revealed that she and her husband-of-ten-years, Keith Urban, don’t actually give each other Christmas gifts but have a much more important festive tradition.

“We don’t give each other gifts at Christmas,” she told Ellen.

The comedienne wasn’t convinced, remarking that she and her wife, Portia De Rossi, always say that, but end up sneaking each other a gift.

Laughing Nic quipped, “I’ll kiss him!”

Continuing, “He’s in Australia right now on tour, and the girls and I are here, and we’re flying to him tonight, so we’re his present!”

Indeed, as Keith kicked off his ripCORD World Tour 2016 tour in Sydney Nic and the girls headed to LAX on December 14 bound for Sydney to be reunited with the country crooner.

Nicole and Keith are the proud parents to their two beautiful daughters Sunday Rose, eight, and Faith Margaret, five.

And Christmas is really about making them happy.

“They want American Dolls, and they want candy. They want, want, want!” she revealed, about the girls’ wish list, but admitted she wanted them to focus on giving back.

“The one thing we are doing actually, which I just read an article on [and] is a great thing to do, is where they get to chose a charity to donate to, and then we donate,” she explained.

“They get to go online and chose it!”

Talk about Nicole’s mini-me! Faith is the spitting image of her mummy.

Sunday has her mother’s poise.

The 49-year-old, who has just been nominated for a Golden Globe award for best supporting actress in a motion picture for her role in Lion, also touched on the awe-inspiring role.

“It’s a story about a little boy, an Indian boy, who gets lost in India,” she said.

“It’s very sad, but very uplifting as well. He finds his way, and I play his adoptive mother who’s just divine. She’s a person called Sue Brierley, who I love.”

Earlier this week, the mum-of-two addressed her 11th nomination, remarking, “This nomination is even more emotional and I’m more grateful than ever before. Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press!”

Nic may find herself with another nomiation in the new year, for her upcoming work on the miniseries, Top of the Lake.

It’s certainly been a busy week for Nicole, charging her way through press for her new film and working on the exciting second season of Top of the Lake.

A far cry from her glamourous Hollywood looks, the actress has undergone a dramatic make-under for her role on the Australian show.

Nic, who portrays a mother name Julia, will be joining Elisabeth Moss, who is reprising her Golden Globe-winning role as detective Robin Griffin.

The season, titled China Girl, is set in Sydney and will air on Foxtel next year.

The girls can’t wait to see their daddy!
