In a statement, Nick Cave and his wife Susie Bick revealed: “Our son Arthur died on Tuesday evening. He was our beautiful, happy, loving boy, we ask that we be given the privacy our family needs to grieve at this difficult time.”
Arthur was found at 6pm after falling from Ovingdean Gap in Brighton on Tuesday evening with critical injuries.
A spokesman from the Sussex Police explained: “He died later that evening of his injuries in hospital. The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
The tight-knit family visited the scene to mourn and Arthur’s twin brother Earl left flowers and a heartbreaking note reading, “I love you so much. You were a joy to be around and I will never forget you. You were the best brother I could ever ask for. Earl x x x x x.”
Besides his twin Earl, Arthur leaves behind two other brothers, Jethro and Luke.
Australian singer Nick Cave moved to London in the 1980’s and is well known for his work in Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds and his collaboration with Kylie Minogue.
The 57-year-old lives with his family in progressive and artsy town of Brighton south of London.
Our thoughts are with Arthur’s family during this tragic time.
